I think the video was very interesting.  It made me think about how many languages have words that mean things we as english speakers cannont fathom, because it was never apart of our language.  For example the two american scientist who could not figure out a genetic answer that could be easily answered by a german because their language says that forelimbs and backlimbs are the same, and so are genetics. I think scientist from each country should be allowed to publish in their own native language, but that it must be translated into english and other languages.  The reason why it must be translated is that science is universal (hence its own mesuring system: liters, kilograms, etc.) its ment to be shared across the board to every scientist no matter the language.

Hoy es mericoles y yo conduje (actually road) al iglesia hoy.  En Iglesia yo reflejé en mi la acciónes y quién yo tener sido. Her name is Letizia Ortiza! She is an actual princess,but what is really neat is that it is by marriage. Her title as princess of Spain does not end in that sentence alone because she has made a difference in fashion and has raised awarness about issues in todays culture. As far as fashion is concerned Letizia has made a statement around spain for wearing flats or low heel shoes, but never high heels (http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1920738,00.html) Another reason she should be recognized in naional hispanic hertiage month is because as becoming princess, "Her work has been focused on social issues such as Childrens rights, culture, and education." (http://www.bellazon.com/main/index.php?showtopic=30424) Lastly the princess is famous because she is simply a PRINCESS OF SPAIN!!! How cool is that (:????

Micayla's first blog entry

I am Excited about spanish two this semester, because I hope to learn enough spanish to carry a full conversation.  I also want to speak spanish fluently someday!! I have never done a blog before, though i think it will be helpful to practice writing spanish in a everyday use format, like this.  The one thing I want to know as the semester progresses is how to continue to grow as a spanish speaker  while I am not in class. :D
